In 1993, Radiohead released their debut album, Pablo Honey, whose title was inspired by a prank call from one of the Jerky Boys’ infamous comedy CDs.
The result was a stunning blend, combining the best aspects of prog-rock (sophisticated lyrics, skillful chord changes, novel time signatures, and so on) with the simplicity of a bedroom singer-songwriter and the sound of expensive equipment tweaked by experts. While later albums were better received, this remains one of rock's most impressive debuts.
